My letter from
stellaluna_ was T.
That's kind of tough. You know, I could totally cheat, and just start every on with "The ..." but that would be bad. ...because, it's wrong. So, for T I like...
1) Tea, (now isn't that a coincidence... but seriously,) I really like tea, and would drink it more often than I do, if I wasn't so lazy. Hot tea, any blend, some with a splash of milk (generally black teas), and the rest plain. Occasionally, I'll add a bit of honey, or honey substitute. I also like iced tea, as long as it is unsweetened. I can't stand heavily sweetened drinks, and not just because I am diabetic, because artificial sweeteners are even worse. My favorite blend is "The Nutcracker Suite" by Celestial Seasonings. It's just a coincidence that is my favorite ballet, by my favorite composer.. ooh.
2) Tchaikovsky. I fell in love with The Nutcracker when my ballet class went to see it performed at the Poughkeepsie Civic Center in 1980. I was five years old, and I can't tell you how many times that I have seen it since, and it is still as magical for me, and the music is incredible. I think Tchaikovsky has a very distinctive style and feel that draws you in, and I can almost always recognize his work, even if I am unfamiliar with the piece.
3) Theatre. Maybe it is because of the above experience, or because of many different ones, I love all forms of theatre (yes, even opera). I don't get to see many productions any more, but I love getting drawn into those worlds, and dramas, like a spell is being wrapped around the audience. (If you want to be literal, you could add movie theatres to this list to, though that is different.)
4) Tarot. I have several decks in my collection, and have had an interest in the cards for about seven years. I recently began to use them again, trying to draw a card daily and meditate on it's meaning in relation to my life, but I am lacking inertia in keeping it up. I don't think of it as fortune-telling or divination, really, more using univeral archetypes to access our sub-conscious minds. Besides, some of them are really pretty.
5) Tetras. Though this is a stretch, actually, I love my aquarium, and am rescuing four Tetras, from someone who can no longer care for them, on Friday. I'll be adding them to my freshwater tank, with my Mollies. I'd like to start a saltwater aquarium, and I have another large aquarium/habitat for Land Hermit Crabs. (My husband has his own aquarium, plus a snake, and we have a cat named Luna. I usually have some sort of rodent, preferable hamsters, but not right now, as I gave it up when I was pregnant.) I also have a game on my computer called Fish Tycoon, where I am attempting to breed every variety of fish avaiable.
6) Television. Though I am not really obsessed about it. We don't even have cable right now, I download shows off of the internet, when I can get an internet connection at the college or a friend's house, as my dial-up sucks.
7) Trivial Pursuit. Trivia in general, is fun, as my head is full of useless information. It's hard to find someone to play with, though my husband will sometimes join me for a game, since I haven't memorized all of the answers to our current version, yet. I love board games, and puzzles in general.
8) Tequila. I'm not much of a drinker, but when I do, it's a good chance it involves Tequila (preferably white/silver) or rum (especially coconut).
9) Tropical - The above answer reminded me of this, I love tropical flavors (coconut, pinapple, citrus), and I'd love to live on an island. As long as I can remember, my dream vacation has consisted of a Carribean cruise.
10) Tobacco - Unfortunately, I'm a smoker and have been since I was 12. I've quit a few times, for long and short stretches, but can't seem to give up the habit completely. I sometimes go all day (or longer) without a cigatette, but can smoke a half a pack when sitting in front of my computer, especially when I am coding. I also smoke a lot when around other smokers. Jonesboro recently instituted a public smoking ban (as well as being in a dry county - wtf).
